Nevil Thomas is a Toronto businessman. Personally touched by a congenital cardiac condition, he became interested in making information about these conditions more readily available to physicians, surgeons, and other health care professionals locally, nationally, and internationally.
The Nevil Thomas Adult Congenital Heart Library opened in early 1999 to move towards this goal. The library provides access to multimedia learning resources on the subject of congenital heart defects in the adolescent and adult. Some of these are available only at the University Health Network. Most resources will be available through the Internet to cardiologists across Canada and the world - making this the first virtual library of its kind. The site will also provide guidelines for patient care, teaching sets of chest xrays and ECGs for download, and access to other sites of interest.
The University of Toronto, its Congenital Cardiac Centre for Adults, the University Health Network, and the Canadian Adult Congenital Heart (CACH) Network express their gratitude to Mr. Thomas for his leadership and generosity.
